The CRC Blueprint

My scientific approach to my own cancer – shared with you.

Contact

I read everything that arrives, and I answer what I can.

The best way to reach me is by email:

A few things worth saying before you write, so that nobody is disappointed by the reply.

What I cannot do

I am a molecular biologist and a patient. I am not an oncologist, I am not your oncologist, and I cannot advise on your case. Please do not send scans, blood results or pathology reports and ask what they mean — I am not qualified to read them, and answering would be worse than not answering. Those belong with the team who know your history.

I also cannot tell you whether to take a supplement, join a trial, or change a treatment. Everything on this site is written to help you have a better conversation with your own team, not to replace it.

What I am glad to hear about

  • Anything on this site that is wrong, out of date, or badly explained. Corrections are genuinely welcome, and the more specific the better.
  • A paper or a trial you think deserves covering.
  • Questions about the book, or trouble getting hold of a copy.
  • Anything that was unclear, or that you wish had been in it.

If you are writing because you have just been diagnosed: I am sorry, and I do read those. Replies can take a while, and they are worth less than the conversation you should be having with your oncology team — but you are not writing into a void.
